Livelihood FAQs

How does a woman join Farmours? +
She first joins or forms a Self-Help Group (SHG) in her village. Once the SHG shows 6 months of disciplined saving and internal lending, they are inducted into the cluster federation and FPO.
Why 100% women-led? +
Data and our own 14 years of experience show that when women control household income, a larger percentage is reinvested in children's education, nutrition, and health.
Do you provide agricultural loans? +
We do not provide direct loans. We facilitate bank linkages and train SHGs to manage their own internal lending corpus at low interest rates.
Can men participate? +
Men participate in the farming activities, but the FPO shareholding, board seats, and financial decision-making remain strictly with the women members.
