Data FAQs

What does a '+' suffix mean instead of an exact figure? +
The '+' suffix means 'at least this many'. We publish the verified floor — currently one lakh-plus households — and update upward as additional village surveys return. We do not extrapolate from a sample.
How are SHGs counted? +
Each Self-Help Group is registered in the Farmours SHG ledger with its village, formation date, member list, and savings record. A group is 'active' if it has held a meeting and recorded a savings transaction in the last 90 days.
What is the difference between 'households reached' and 'households in lead FPO'? +
'Households reached' (1L+) is the broad count of any household that has participated in any programme. 'Households in lead FPO' (3,320+) is the narrow count of households that are dues-paying members of the lead FPO in Dhamtari.
Are these numbers independently audited? +
Internally, every figure passes through three layers. Externally, PwC audited the FY 2023–24 ledger in September 2024, and an academic review by the IIT Bilaspur Development Studies group was completed in February 2025.
