Teaching Mentor

Support Class 1–12 students at Prayaas learning centres. Deliver curriculum, mentor students, track learning outcomes.

Your output goes to real communities. Quarterly reviews at 3, 6, and 12 months. Certificate on completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum age to volunteer? +
Yes — 18 years. For field roles involving direct contact with children (teaching mentor, learning centre support), we additionally require a background check and a signed child-safeguarding undertaking. Yoga instructors must hold a current 200-hour certification.
Can I volunteer remotely from outside India? +
Yes, for the tech & design, Field Notes writing, and certain curriculum roles. Remote volunteers join via Slack and weekly video stand-ups. Time-zone overlap with IST (minimum 4 working hours) is expected. Field roles require physical presence in Chhattisgarh.
Do volunteers receive a stipend? +
No stipend for the first three months. Travel and food for field assignments are always covered. Modest stipends may follow for high-commitment roles from month four onwards.
Do you provide accommodation for field volunteers? +
Yes. Field volunteers based at our Dhamtari office or at field locations receive simple shared accommodation and meals at no cost. Travel to and from your home city is reimbursed once per quarter.
Can my organisation send a team of volunteers? +
Yes. We host corporate volunteer days (typically 1–3 days, up to 25 people) for river cleanup drives, learning centre painting, or heritage walk support. Write to us via the Contact page with 'Group volunteering' in the subject line.
