Why does this page use placeholders instead of photographs? +
Because the Project Gallery is a refreshable log, not a permanent archive. Real field photographs are processed, captioned, and licensed (CC-BY 4.0) before they enter the Media Gallery under the Emerging section. The placeholders allow this log to refresh rapidly.
How often is the Project Gallery refreshed? +
Monthly. At the start of each month, the previous month's fieldwork is added and the oldest projects (older than 12 months) rotate out into the Media Gallery archive.
Can I use a project's photograph in my news article? +
Yes — but pull from the Media Gallery, not from this page. The Media Gallery hosts the licensed photographs, all CC-BY 4.0. Use them with attribution to 'Meer Foundation, Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh.'
Are the project descriptions verbatim from field logs? +
They are editorial summaries written from field logs. We do not publish raw field logs directly because they often contain household-level details that require consent to publish.
